The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) held a special training course on foreign affairs and official work regarding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan from December 4-6 in Beijing.

Nearly 120 people from women's federations in 27 provinces, , municipalities and the functional departments and directly affiliated units of the ACWF participated in the event.

Xia Jie, vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

She noted that the foreign affairs of women's federations and the work carried out in relation to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan should be implemented according to the important instructions and diplomatic thoughts of President Xi Jinping.

They also need to innovate vigorously, and strive to contribute to the country's overall diplomatic efforts, domestic economic and social development, and the causes of women and children.

The organizers invited leaders and experts from the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the National Development and Reform Commission, the , the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and China Institute of International Studies.

At the event, experts gave lectures on President Xi's thinking on diplomacy, the current international situation and the major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics, the Belt and Road initiative, and the work regarding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

The training session was also organized to share the experience of women's federations' international exchanges, and their work in relation to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, in the form of speeches and group discussions.

One discussion was held on the theme "Harnessing Women's Strength on the Development of the ".

The participants agreed to focus on the central work of local Party committees and governments and the overall development of women and children according to the deployment of the ACWF.

They will make full use of women's roles and create branded activities; actively and effectively unite and consolidate power of women in various countries toward the progress of the Belt and Road initiative; and, build a community with a shared future.
