Chen Zhili, former vice-chairperson of the National People's Congress Standing Committee and former president of the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF), donated copies of her latest book on women's work to relevant departments and scholars in Beijing on December 13.

The book, compiled and published by China Women Publishing House, contains 124 of Chen's speeches, amounting to a total of 660,000 characters, along with over 140 photos and illustrations.

Officials held a special ceremony to accept Chen's donation. , vice-president and first member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, presided over the ceremony.

Copies will be distributed to experts, scholars, women's federations and relevant departments of the ACWF, according to organizers.

Nowadays, many projects concerning women and children have made significant achievements and produced positive social effects, benefiting huge numbers of women and children, said Chen during the event.

These achievements were made due to the firm leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, the current opportunity brought about by overall reform and opening-up policy, and the selfless dedication of people who contribute efforts to women's causes, Chen added.

Huang explained that the book includes the theoretical thinking and precious experiences of Chen when she worked as ACWF president, and these played an important role in promoting the innovative development and study of women's causes.

Huang highlighted that women's federations at all levels and all people involve in women's work should enhance the "Four Consciousnesses", namely the consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core and keep in alignment.

They should strengthen the "Four Confidences", namely confidence in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

They should also firmly uphold the authority of the CPC Central Committee and its centralized, unified leadership with Xi at the core and closely follow the committee in terms of its thinking, political orientation and actions.

Furthermore, Huang said they should consciously study and implement the address that President Xi gave when he met the new leadership of the ACWF recently and carried out the work arrangement made at the 12th National Women's Congress.

Tan Lin, vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, and Cui Yu, former vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, delivered speeches respectively at the event.

The event was also attended by Li Kaisheng, director of the publishing house.
